Women Highest Receivers Of Inward Remittances

Women are the highest contribu­tor to mobile money – an elec­tronic wallet service – in Fiji.

Renu Chand, a partner at KPMG made the comment during a panel discussion about leadership at the National Econom­ic Summit.

She said women were also the highest receiver of inward remittances and the highest recipients of inward mobile mon­ey.

Ms Chand said women had the potential to grow the economy.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandem­ic, women led the digital wallet space for the country, she said.

“This is a game changer,” Ms Chand said.
