Wyndham Signs Up With WG Friendship Plaza

Once the WG Friendship Plaza opens it will create more than 200 jobs.

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is coming soon to Suva.

The renowned resort brand sealed the deal with WG International Real Estate Co. Limited, the developer of WG Friendship Plaza on McGregor Rd, Suva.

The 28-storey building is going to feature premium apartment blocks, office spaces and a luxury hotel.

Once the WG Friendship Plaza opens it will create more than 200 jobs.

There is a Wyndham Resort already, on Denarau Island.

It is understood, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Head of Development- South East Asia & Pacific Rim, Matt Holmes and WG International Real Estate director Ron Ding penned the private deal in late 2019.

WG International Real Estate representative Julian Yuen, has now confirmed: “Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will occupy levels 19 to 25 with the hotel rooms and suites.

“While its state of the art conference facilities will be available on levels 26 and 27.

“Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, will not only manage the property, but it has also acquired expert interior designers to create an airy, approachable experience for guests.”

The interiors will have a balance of nature and structure with expanded natural light, a focus on texture, naturally inspired materials and wood-look accents.

Hotel circulation In the hotel circulation area it transitions as the journey to the guest room is composed with soft curves which is an elegant lift carriage that features a commissioned artwork of Fijian motif patterns.

There is also a subtle Fijian influence which is suggested by the planned wall scones and the carpet pattern.

Hotel guest room

The hotel guest room will be finished with fine materials such woven leather and knot tying as the artwork with selected veneers and brushed metal to express a refine residential appeal.

The hotel guest bathroom will have subtle lever like details from the hull.

It is reflected on the sanitary fitting, that sits on a selected marble slab vanity with counter top sink punctuated by a decorative motif lamp.

About the project

The WG Friendship Plaza project began in 2016. In light of the challenges faced over the past years and COVID-19 the expected date of completion is still not confirmed.

But work has been continuing.
