Former journalist and marketing expert Charlie Charters has been granted permission to travel to Australia for work purposes.

Charters, who faces two counts of aiding and abetting a Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) officer, appeared before Resident Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne this morning for a ruling on his bail variation application.

He will be travelling from March 5 to 26 for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ official hospitality programme, which began in Perth, Australia, last Sunday.

Charters has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case is adjourned to March 30 for a pretrial conference.
