Chinese nationals deny drug charges, bail extended
The pair face three counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs involving more than 800 grams of crystal methamphetamine allegedly discovered in Nadi.

Bail has been extended for Chinese nationals Xu Qiang and Wang An in the High Court in Lautoka.
The two appeared before Justice Sekonaia Vodokisolomone today, assisted by a Chinese translator who read the charges to them.
They face three counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

The court heard that on September 23, 2025, in Nadi, the two allegedly possessed 805.657 grams of crystal methamphetamine without lawful authority.
The first count alleges that on September 23, 2025, at Votualevu in Nadi, the pair were found with 302.9 grams of methamphetamine. Both pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Under the second count, Qiang is alleged to have possessed 6.09 grams of methamphetamine at Martintar, Nadi. He pleaded not guilty.
The third count alleges that An possessed 495.841 grams of methamphetamine at Viseisei, Vuda. He also pleaded not guilty.
The court heard both accused were unemployed and in Fiji on six-month tourist visas. They confirmed they understood the charges and had received full disclosures from the State.
Justice Vodokisolomone extended bail for both men.
The matter has been adjourned to June 4.
