The High Court in Suva has ordered the State to file and serve its disclosures to the defence in the case against a man accused of attempting to murder a police officer.

Saimoni Rokotunidau appeared before Justice Dane Tuiqereqere today. He faces charges of attempted murder, serious assault, going equipped, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and refusing to provide fingerprints and photographs.

The charges stem from an incident at a police roadblock in Laqere in Nasinu on April 26.

The State alleges Rokotunidau and two other men attempted to murder a police officer during the incident.

His co-accused are Jone Rakatia and Dominiko Tabao.

Justice Tuiqereqere directed the State to file and serve its disclosures to the defence before the matter proceeds.

Rokotunidau is represented by defence lawyer Jerry Dinati.

The matter was adjourned until July 14.
