A drug accused has complained about bed bugs at the Suva Remand Centre, where she is currently incarcerated.

At the Suva Magistrate Court today, Yin Ging Ging, through her lawyer Shirley Tavo, said that although medical staff attended to her bed bug bites, she did not receive any medication.

Yin appeared alongside Josaia Ravula before Magistrate Sufia Hamza.

They are charged with one count of possession of 41.95 grams of methamphetamine, allegedly found at Yue Lai Hotel on September 14.

The State prosecution was granted time to respond to the bail application filed by the lawyers representing the accused pair.

Ravula’s lawyer, Sunil Kumar, told the court they had not received the second set of disclosures. However, Magistrate Hamza’s records indicated otherwise.

She said that Mr Kumar needed to pay for the second disclosures.

Both will remain in remand until October 23.
