Two men charged in relation to the alleged murder of 24-year-old Police Constable Peniasi Racagi in Lami have been granted bail by the High Court in Suva.

Keni Salawai, 42, and Jope Seniloli, 20, appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar this morning, where the State prosecution did not object to their release.

Between 21 and 22 February, the two are alleged to have aided and abetted in causing injuries to the late PC Racagi, which led to his death.

The court granted bail with strict conditions, requiring each accused to provide two sureties and a bond of $1,000.

As part of the bail conditions, Salawai is to report to the Lami Police Station every Saturday between 6am and 6pm, while Seniloli must report to the Valelevu Police Station within the same timeframe.

Both men have also been ordered not to change their residential addresses without informing the court, not to interfere with prosecution witnesses, and to surrender their travel documents.

The matter has been adjourned to May 8 for plea.
