High-profile meth case adjourned

Three Chinese nationals among six accused facing drug-related allegations.

A high-profile methamphetamine case involving six accused — including three Chinese nationals was adjourned at the Suva Magistrate Court today and the case returns tomorrow for hearing.

The court heard that the group waited since 8:30am before appearing before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza just after midday.

The hearing is in regards to the case of State against Josua Ravula, Ginna Choi, Peniasi Delai, Dai Ming Hui, Yu Yanfeng, and Zhou Lan.

The case, which began with raids in Flagstaff and Rewa Street in September 2025, involves allegations of possessing over 42 grams of methamphetamine by Ravula and 39.5 grams by three of the Chinese nationals.

The court recently held a voir dire a hearing within the main trial where a magistrate rules on whether certain evidence can be used in court before tomorrow’s hearing.

The accused remain on remand.
