The Tribunal Court in Suva has subpoenaed the Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga, to testify in the hearing into Fiji Corrections Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa’s alleged misconduct.
Justice Daniel Goundar revealed this in court this afternoon.
Mr Nakarawa’s lawyer, Simone Valenitabua, had previously filed a subpoena but withdrew it last week. Justice Goundar stated that it is only fair for Mr Turaga to give evidence regarding his referral of complaints against Mr Nakarawa to the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC).
