'King' Khan in court over restraining order breach

Imran Khan, widely known as “King Khan”, appeared at the High Court in Suva this morning before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

He is charged with one count of breaching a restraining order under the Proceeds of Crime Act 1997.

Police allege Khan breached a High Court restraining order by disposing of a vehicle covered under the order.

The restraining order also included a $400,000 property, cash held in a local bank account and four vehicles.

State lawyer Moira Konrote requested 14 days to complete and file full disclosures in the case.

Defence lawyer Jerry Dinati also sought 14 days for his client to take a plea.

Justice Rajasinghe granted the State 14 days to file all disclosures.

The case has been adjourned to June 11 for mention.
