Man accused of killing teen in Naqali further remanded

Case transferred back to Nausori Magistrate Court; psychiatric evaluation completed.

A 43-year-old man charged with the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Naqali Village, Naitasiri, has been further remanded.

Samuela Dasalusalu appeared before Chief Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola today.

The State prosecution informed the court that the case has now been transferred back to the Nausori Magistrate Court.

Dasalusalu is charged with the murder of Salote Sikiti. It is alleged that on December 10, 2026, he attacked the victim outside her home, striking her multiple times with a knife.

The court heard that Dasalusalu’s psychiatric evaluation has been completed.

Magistrate Waqaivolavola adjourned the case to January 12.
