Man admits threatening mother in High Court

A 23-year-old man who previously received a suspended sentence for attacking his father with a cane knife has pleaded guilty to criminally threatening his mother in the High Court in Suva.

Rakshay Chand appeared before Justice Usaia Ratuvili today and admitted to one count of criminal intimidation.

Chand told the court he had been confused about the two charges he faced but entered the guilty plea after receiving legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for a summary of facts to be presented on June 12.
