Man charged over attack on Police officer granted bail
Accused faces attempted murder, serious assault and theft-related charges.

A man accused of involvement in an incident that left a police officer fighting for his life has been granted bail by the High Court.
Domoniko Tabau, 40, of Narere, appeared before Justice Dane Tuiqereqere yesterday. He is charged with attempted murder, serious assault and going equipped for theft.
The charges stem from an alleged incident on April 26, when a vehicle carrying three men reportedly drove through a police roadblock before its occupants allegedly resisted arrest.

Police claim Mr Tabau was one of the men inside the vehicle during the incident.
The court also heard allegations that a number of tools commonly associated with break-ins, including a pinch bar, screwdriver, scissors and wrench, were found in his possession.
Justice Tuiqereqere granted bail subject to strict conditions, including a requirement that Mr Tabau report to Nasinu Police Station every week.
Meanwhile, the police officer injured during the incident remains in critical condition.
The matter has been adjourned to June 12 for mention.
