A man accused of causing the death of a 28-year-old Virgin Australia flight attendant in a motor vehicle accident in Nadi has pleaded not guilty to a charge of manslaughter.

Makario Namotu Vilimotama appeared before Justice Sekonaia Vodokisolomone in the High Court in Lautoka today.

The prosecution alleges that Vilimotama was driving a vehicle involved in an accident at Martintar, Nadi, on the morning of March 28, resulting in the death of Mary Theresa Lucinta Evans, a 28-year-old Virgin Australia flight attendant.

The court heard the alleged conduct was reckless and created a risk of serious harm.

Vilimotama, who is represented by lawyer Anil Prasad, entered a plea of not guilty.

The court was informed that at the next mention on July 26, the defence intends to file voir dire grounds challenging the admissibility of the accused's recorded interview.

Justice Vodokisolomone extended Vilimotama's bail.

As part of his bail conditions, Vilimotama must observe a curfew from 8pm to 5am and report to Namaka Police Station as directed.

The court also ordered that, should Vilimotama suffer an asthma attack during curfew hours, he may seek medical treatment at a hospital without breaching his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned until July 26 for mention.
