Man remanded over alleged indecent assault in Sigatoka

A man accused of indecently assaulting a woman was remanded by the Nadi Magistrates Court after allegedly touching the woman’s breast.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Talei Kean during a special court sitting last Saturday.

The court heard the alleged offence occurred in Sigatoka on January 22.

The accused waived his right to counsel. Police prosecutor Corporal Mereisi Nainoca represented the State.

Corporal Nainoca told the court the accused and the complainant are cousins.

She also informed the court there was no objection to bail.

Magistrate Kean remanded the accused and ordered him to reappear in court on May 29.
