A 40-year-old man charged in connection with the alleged unlawful importation of cocaine into Fiji was further remanded by the Suva Magistrate Court this morning.

Magistrate Diroiroi instructed Nand’s lawyer, Feizal Haniff, to file a formal bail application for his client.
State prosecutor Eoghn Samisoni objected to bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged offence.
Magistrate Diroiroi adjourned the case to this Friday for a bail hearing.
It is alleged that the accused was intercepted by police last Thursday at the DHL Express Service Point in Raiwaqa while attempting to collect a suspicious package.
The alleged consignment was addressed to Nand’s company and labelled as a “smoke machine.”
The discovery was made following a joint operation between the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
