Murder accused warned to strictly follow bail conditions

A former Fiji Corrections Service officer accused of killing his partner has been warned to strictly comply with his bail conditions.
Epeli Laqeni appeared before Justice Usaia Ratuvili at the High Court in Suva yesterday.
The accused is charged with the murder of his de facto partner, whose body was found at her home in Nakasi in September last year.

Laqeni has been using a wheelchair since the alleged incident.
The court granted bail to allow him to undergo urgent corrective surgery to help him walk again.
During the hearing, Justice Ratuvili reminded Laqeni to fully comply with all bail conditions.
The prosecution said it needs more time to finalise the agreed facts.
The matter has been adjourned and will be called again on June 9.
