The High Court has postponed the plea of a man charged with murder while waiting for an updated psychiatric report.

Charles Laxton Sundar appeared before Justice Usaia Ratuvili yesterday at the High Court in Suva, where he is charged with one count of murder.

The prosecution told the court that doctors at St Giles Psychiatric Hospital had earlier found Sundar unfit to enter a plea again.

However, they said he has since gone through more medical assessment and treatment, and his condition is improving.

Sundar is accused of attacking his grandfather with a cane knife on July 12 last year in Lutu, Wainibuka. The victim later died from his injuries. It is also alleged that Sundar dismembered the body and placed it in a sack.

The case has been adjourned to the 19th of this month for the court to review the latest psychiatric report.
