Drug accused Zoe Maharaj and Ledua Gudru have pleaded not guilty to charges relating to the alleged possession of methamphetamine, a grenade and ammunition.

The pair appeared before Joseph Daurewa today over an alleged incident in Delainavesi, Lami, on February 13, 2026.

Maharaj faces two counts: unlawful possession of 0.111 grams of methamphetamine and possession of arms or ammunition without a licence after she was allegedly found with a grenade and ammunition.

Gudru is charged with allegedly aiding and abetting Maharaj in the unlawful possession of the drugs and weapons.

Both accused denied the charges.

The court also considered an application for a bail review after an initial bail application was refused on March 23, 2026.

Defence counsel Isimeli Keteca, who appeared for both accused, argued that circumstances had changed since the original ruling, citing amendments to the charges and claims that the State's case had weakened.

The State opposed the application, arguing there were no special or exceptional circumstances to justify revisiting the earlier bail decision.

The court ruled that the grounds raised did not meet the requirements for a bail review.

The matter was adjourned to July 17 for a pre-trial conference.
