The son of Palauan senator Hokkons Baules remains in custody as his criminal case continues in court.
Lagomarsino Baules is charged with one count of being a prohibited immigrant and one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
He appeared before Magistrate Sufia Hamza at the Suva Magistrate Court this morning.
His lawyer, Francine Chand, told the court the defence plans to take a “progressive approach” when the matter is called again.
Court documents state that between September 3 and September 16, 2025, Baules remained in Fiji after his visitor permit expired, overstaying by seven days and becoming unlawfully present in the country.
He has pleaded guilty to the prohibited immigrant charge.
The case has been adjourned to March 9.
