State prosecutors have requested additional time to submit full phase disclosures in the treason case against former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and former Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho.

Bainimarama and Qiliho appeared before Resident Magistrate Yogesh Prasad yesterday. They are charged with inciting mutiny.

The duo are accused of attempting to persuade senior officers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) to arrest and overthrow RFMF Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai.

Acting Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Lusia Latu told the court that continuous adverse weather had delayed the delivery of documents from the Western Division.

With no objection from defence lawyer Devanesh Sharma, the matter was adjourned for 14 days.

The case will be called again on March 19, and both accused remain on bail.
