Two accused await bail response in Top Shop $9 robbery
The two are accused of assaulting a 60-year-old man during a robbery.

Police prosecution has been given until next Monday to respond to a bail application by two men charged with aggravated robbery at the Raiwaqa Top Shop, Suva, last year.
Lagani Rabukawaqa, 23, and Saimoni Macedru, 27, appeared before Resident Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne today.
They are each charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

Police allege that on December 13, 2025, the two accused, together with another man, assaulted a 60-year-old man who was waiting for a bus and stole $9 and a watch.
During proceedings, Police prosecution confirmed it had received the bail application on Monday morning and requested time to file its response.
The prosecution has until Friday to respond, before the matter is called next Monday for a bail ruling.
However, the case has since been transferred to the High Court, and both accused are scheduled to make their first appearance on January 16.
They remain remanded at the Suva Remand Centre.
