Police probe social media of deceased Nadi doctor

The victim was found motionless in his home by a workmate who lodged the report after he failed to turn up for work.

Investigators confirmed they are pursuing the posts as potential leads in establishing the circumstances surrounding his death.

Police say social media posts made by Dr Isireli Biumaitotoya, commonly known online as Leighley Darling, are now part of their investigation into his alleged murder.

Dr Isireli was discovered motionless inside his Namaka park home by a colleague, who reported him missing after he failed to show up for work and did not answer repeated calls. The colleague also told police that his vehicle was missing.

Police have since managed to identify the victim’s car after verifying information received during the early stages of the investigation.

Authorities say investigations are continuing.


Social media timeline of events

On Facebook, Dr Isireli went by the name Leighley Leli Darling, where he had more than 65,000 followers and around 4,000 page followers.

He described himself as: “A Bird Of Paradise... Bright, Colourful, Pleasant, Regal and Beautiful IG_Leli Darling.”

Dr Isireli was known for his regular daily posts about his personal life and topics of interest.

His final Facebook update was made at 5.49pm on Saturday, August 30, when he shared a poster that read: “I haven't been banned from Facebook in a long time. I suspect my factchecker passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.”

On the same day, he made five other posts:

  • 4.02pm: Shared a video by Justin Stolz on Transmurder in the U.S.
  • 1.16pm: Shared a post claiming the vaccine scam was slowly being eradicated.
  • 1.15pm: Shared breaking news about a U.S. Federal Appeals Court ruling President Trump’s global tariffs illegal.
  • 10.35am: Shared a video by Chad Prather of Piers Morgan debating a vegan.
  • 10.13am: Shared a meme from Fijian Memes Hub about a young girl allegedly tricked by an elderly man in Lautoka.

His last video of himself was posted on Friday, August 29. Filmed at his Nadi clinic, the 29-second clip showed him miming lyrics to the Babyface song “Every Time I Close My Eyes.”


July 28, 2025 – Facebook Post
Dr Isireli wrote about a troubled relationship, saying:

“FINALLY one very angry and linguistically colored BF became aware of the existence of the other… showering me with vitriolic verbatims of a love scorned.”

He added that he was “playing a dangerous game” but insisted he was the innocent party, writing:

“In case you will judge me post mortem, [know] that I am the innocent party in this complex and difficult love journey.”

He posted screenshots of the conversation with the unidentified man who he was supposedly seeing, threatening him that he would eventually 'carry his own organs one day'.
