First in her family, Sereima Naivilawasa takes on ACS head girl role
She says leadership is a calling to serve, support and protect every girl at the school.

For Sereima Naivilawasa, becoming head girl at Adi Cakobau School is more than a title. It is a historic moment for her family.
The second eldest and only girl among her siblings, Ms Naivilawasa is the first in her family to be appointed Head Girl, a milestone that has filled her household with pride.
“I feel deeply honoured and overwhelmed,” Sereima said.
“The fact that the school saw the potential in me to lead this year means so much.”

Originally from Vitawa in the province of Ra, she shares maternal links to Naotau, Rotuma.
“Leadership comes with a purpose. It is a gift from the Almighty. We are not just called to lead from the top, but to support our sisters in Year 9, Year 12 and Year 13,” she said.
Sereima said stepping into the role comes at a time when schools face ongoing discipline challenges. But instead of reacting emotionally, she plans to lead with calmness and harmony.
“First, I will not panic. I will observe what is happening, seek the help of my deputies, and work together as one to solve the issue, not create more chaos,” she said.
“Our theme is to live with love, live with integrity and live with perseverance. We will make sure everyone feels safe when they come to school and when they leave. Bullying will not be tolerated. Everyone must be treated fairly, without prejudice.
“When my family heard about it, they were happy. It created a memorable moment for us. I’m proud to carry my family name now and into the future.”
She credits the support of teachers and the student body as key to her success, saying leadership is not a one‑person journey.
Her message to students is simple but powerful: “Work hard. Work with integrity and perseverance. Make yourself proud, make your family proud, and focus on your future goals.”
