TikToker arrested for allegedly causing harm online
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu reminded the public that while freedom of speech is a right, it comes with limitations.

A 31-year-old TikTok user is in Police custody after allegedly causing harm and publicly humiliating individuals through social media.
The suspect was arrested last night in Nadi following a complaint lodged at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Suva.
He was later transferred to the Suva CID headquarters this afternoon.

“I am urging social media users to act responsibly and sensibly when exercising their rights to freedom of speech and expression as they are subjected to limitations,” Mr Tudravu said.
The CID Cybercrime Unit traced the suspect and, with the assistance of Namaka Police, arrested him at an apartment in Martintar, Nadi.
Mr Tudravu said the Fiji Police Force now has the capability to track down individuals spreading harmful content online.
“I urge everyone to be mindful and think before they post online and respect other online users, as the Fiji Police will not be taking reported cases of online abuse lightly. Further, I also wish to mention that we are working closely with the Online Safety Commission Fiji in promoting online safety for everyone,” he said.
