Fiji Police urges parents and guardians to be vigilant of their children's whereabouts

A four-year-old child is believed to be the country’s first road fatality victim, following a motor vehicle accident in Nasovatava yesterday.

The Fiji Police Force confirmed this morning that the victim is alleged to have suddenly crossed the road, where he was bumped by a vehicle driven by a man in his 30s.

“The victim was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital where his death was confirmed by medical officials.

“The suspect will be questioned soon, as investigations continue.”

Police is urging parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s whereabouts.

“Young children should never be left unsupervised, as an accident can occur within a matter of seconds.”
