Association President Calls On Security Reps To Be At Meeting

The Fiji Island Security Employers Association (FISEA) will be meeting today to appoint two members who will be representing to the Security Indus­try Registration and licensing board.

This was confirmed by FISEA president Vilikesa Raqio yesterday.

The meeting will be held at Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) Toorak at 11.00am. Mr Raqio said it was important for all security representatives to attendthe meeting.

“We are working together with the Minis­try of Labour and the Ministry of Defence. It is important for all local security compa­nies in Fiji to join the association because we are working together with the Govern­ment,” Mr Raqio said.

“The only body recognised by the Govern­ment is the Fiji Island Security Employers Association.”

Mr Raqio said he hoped that representa­tives of security companies would turn up in numbers.

“I request all of you to join the associa­tion so that we can work together to push the association ahead. For the past years we never had the chance to work together, so I believe this is the time to work together with the association and also with the Gov­ernment,” he said.

“We have to comply with the criteria the Government needs, compliant by the Min­istry of Labour, Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA), Fiji National Provident Fund and also Security License under the Ministry of Defence.

“If they do not meet these criteria they will not be able to run the company and are breaching the law.”
