“We are working together with the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Defence. It is important for all local security companies in Fiji to join the association because we are working together with the Government,” Mr Raqio said.
“The only body recognised by the Government is the Fiji Island Security Employers Association.”
Mr Raqio said he hoped that representatives of security companies would turn up in numbers.
“I request all of you to join the association so that we can work together to push the association ahead. For the past years we never had the chance to work together, so I believe this is the time to work together with the association and also with the Government,” he said.
“We have to comply with the criteria the Government needs, compliant by the Ministry of Labour, Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA), Fiji National Provident Fund and also Security License under the Ministry of Defence.
“If they do not meet these criteria they will not be able to run the company and are breaching the law.”
