COVID-19: Lautoka Parents Take Children Home From School
At 1pm today, Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete confirmed through his Twitter handle that there was a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Lautoka.He said the virus was imported from a patient who recently traveled abroad.

Parents were seen picking up their children from Saint Thomas Primary School, Central College, Natabua High School, Lautoka Primary School, Jasper Williams Primary School and Jasper Williams High School.
A large number of students in the Lautoka area were taken home by their parents since this morning.
This was after information circulating on social media that there was a positive case of COVID-19 in isolation at the Lautoka Hospital.
Parents were seen picking up their children from Saint Thomas Primary School, Central College, Natabua High School, Lautoka Primary School, Jasper Williams Primary School and Jasper Williams High School.

In Suva, the International School Suva sent out a message to all parents on its Facebook page.
"As most of you probably have heard, a case of Corona Virus has been confirmed in Fiji. Consequently, International School Suva has now officially moved to Level 2 in our COVID-19 Management Plan. That means the following major changes:
1. No public visitors allowed on campus except by appointment (parents are welcome),
2. Anyone (staff, parents, students) coming from overseas must self-quarantine/remain-off-campus for 14 days,
3. No large campus gatherings other than classes, and
4. Camps, field trips, travel are suspended."
