The Fiji Police Force investigation into drug related offences will go further into the proceeds of crime and unexplained wealth.
This was the message by Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Mesake Waqa after three people were arrested at the Nadi Airport.
"This is in line with the Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu’s directive of attacking the drug trade by removing the profit which a few are enjoying at the expense of innocent members of the public," Fiji Police statement said.
Police said that the three people were found with large sums of money believed to be proceeds of crime.
"The investigation is now being handled by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Anti Money Laundering Unit."
"The three were questioned and released as investigations look into the large sums of money found in their possession and whether it has any links to criminal activities."
