Elderly man killed in Nadera road accident

The victim sustained serious injuries and later died. A post-mortem will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.

A 77-year-old man is believed to be the country’s latest road fatality after he was hit by a vehicle along Maqbool Road in Nadera last night.

Police said the accident happened shortly after 6pm when the victim was allegedly crossing the road and was struck by a car driven by a 36-year-old man.

The victim sustained serious injuries and later died. A post-mortem will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.

Investigations are underway.

The national road death toll now stands at 51, compared to 42 for the same period last year.
