Fiji police investigate allegations of theft, rape after Virgin Australian crew night out

The alleged incidents occurred during a night out early yesterday morning. The crew are segregated and confined to their rooms

Allegations of theft and rape have emerged in relation to three Virgin Australia airline crew who remain at a Nadi hotel.

Acting Commissioner of Police (A/COMPOL) Juki Fong Chew confirmed the alleged incidents occurred during a night out early yesterday morning.

The crew are segregated and confined to their rooms at the Tanoa Hotel.

7News Australia reported in the last hour that a Virgin management team will arrive in Nadi tomorrow (Thursday) to conduct their own investigation.

The crew’s families are also travelling to Fiji.

“We confirm police are investigating the Australian airline crew case as they were victims of theft and of allegations of rape after clubbing,” Mr Chew said.

He reiterated that police are committed in providing Fijians and visitors a safe environment this festive season.

Police are also encouraging everyone to keep a look out for each other during this period.
