Following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the four officers have each been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous harm, contrary to Section 255(a), read with Sections 45 and 46 of the Crimes Act 2009.
The Fiji Police Force said it remained committed to upholding the integrity of the policing profession through investigations into allegations made against officers.
Police said once investigations were completed, files were submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for independent legal advice.
Police said the process ensured transparency and helped eliminate claims of collusion or perversion of justice when officers were implicated in criminal matters.
