Lautoka Couple Dedicate March To Honour Women

A couple in Lautoka will be dedicating their time to honour women for the month of March, marking the celebration of International Women’s Day.
Reverend Professor Jonathan Sharma and his wife, Human Rights lawyer, Sabrina Khan-Sharma, have actively taken to celebrate the role that women play actively in the communities, homes and work spaces.
The British-born couple will also include Scriptures from the Bible that will allow them to inspire the women when taking on their campaign for the month of March.

Reverend Sharma has been actively teaching Bible studies in Fiji for the last 28 years.
Ms Khan-Sharma said the month of March was to fully dedicate it to women and celebrate their achievements.
“An equal world is an enabled world,” she said.
“We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.
“Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world full of empowerment and strength and in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, we are dedicating the entire month of March in celebration of women.”
She said there was so much each person could learn from women and share their treasures stories with the communities.
“The Bible is filled with beautiful stories of inspirational women whose faith and convictions have shaped our lives,” she said.
