Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) member Jale Baba was not able to attend his court case yesterday because of his medical condition.

Baba was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) in October, 2018 with one count of making a false statement for allegedly publishing false voter lists and other information on social media.

Lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo told the court that his client was unable to attend court as a result of a stroke suffered last year, which left him half paralysed.

Vosarogo requested for a month to enable him to prepare and serve the Court and FICAC with a medical report to confirm the same.

FICAC’s Senior lawyer Francis Puleiwai, did not object to that request. The case is adjourned to May 29, 2019.
