The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF) is urging elderly persons and those with underlying medical conditions, to undergo medical check ups before undertaking long-distance maritime travel.
This comes after a medical incident involving an elderly man occurred at the Natovi Jetty last week.
"MSAF extends its sincere sympathies to the family and loved ones of the elderly man during this difficult time," MSAF said in a media statement.
