Police have yet to question the prime suspect in the death of the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) officer, Salavao Frances, who was found dead at her Nacua Court residence in Nakasi, Nasinu, earlier this month.

Police Spokesperson Sergeant Wame Bautolu confirmed yesterday that no questioning had been done, however, investigations continue.

The matter has been treated as intimate partner violence where France’s defacto partner is the prime suspect.

This newspaper understands that the defacto partner had immediately turned himself in while being admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital to treat his injuries on September 5.

Police said last Tuesday that the defacto partner remained admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) in Suva.

As of last Friday, Frances was accorded burial attended by family members, friends and Fiji Corrections Services personnel.

The couple had previously faced drug-related allegations following a police raid, leading to their unlawful termination by suspended FCS Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa in March.

They were later reinstated after successfully fighting their cases.
