Muslim Mufti Pays Tribute To Late Chief
Mufti Zain said their great grandfathers with all the former late Tui Nawaka had built a close relationship that still exists today.

Mufti (Jurist of Islam), Mohammed Zain Ul Abidean with his family providing lunch for the Bemanu Clan who is guarding the body of the late Tui Nawaka, Ratu Asaeli Driu at the Nadi Hospital morgue.
The late Momo Na Tui Nawaka, Ratu Asaeli Driu Naevo, was a great person who had good public relations with all communities residing on his tribal land.
This was mentioned by the Mufti (Jurist of Islam), Mohammed Zain Ul Abidean of Bilal Islamic Centre at Nawaka in Nadi yesterday.
Mufti Zain said: “It is indeed a sad moment for the people and the vanua of Nawaka that we lost a great and honorable leader, the Momo Tui Nawaka, Turaga na Vale Levu I Nalagi.

“The Tui Nawaka frequently visited our Mosque.
“He used to discuss with us various issues on education and regarding developments in our areas.”
Mufti Zain said their great grandfathers with all the former late Tui Nawaka had built a close relationship that still exists today.
“I am thankful to the vanua for inviting me for any occasion held at the Were o Nalagi and our contribution is always there. “
Mufti Zain said he has been in the village helping with the funeral preparation.
“As the spiritual and religious leader for our Muslim Community I pay tribute and condolences to the family and people of Nawaka, the Nalagi Family and the vanua.”
Mufti Zain has been providing lunch for the Bemanu clan who is guarding the body of Tui Nawaka at the Nadi Hospital Morgue.
Ratu Asaeli died last Monday morning at his residence in Nawaka Village after a short illness. He was 56 years old.
A traditional chiefly burial will be conducted on Wednesday at Nawaka Village in Nadi.
