Nabua supermarket guard reports gun sighting claim

According to the report, an unknown iTaukei man, wearing a white round-neck shirt and black shorts, was seated in the driver’s seat with what appeared to be a magnum pistol placed on his lap.

A security officer at a supermarket in Nabua has reported to the Nabua Police Station that he saw a man with a gun in a vehicle outside the supermarket carpark on Sunday afternoon.

He said he was collecting trolleys in the carpark when he came across a white Toyota Sai Hybrid.

According to the report, an unknown iTaukei man, wearing a white round-neck shirt and black shorts, was seated in the driver’s seat with what appeared to be a magnum pistol placed on his lap.

The officer said he believed the firearm to be real and reported the matter to police.

Under the Arms and Ammunition Act 2003, any person who possesses or carries arms or ammunition without a valid licence, and in accordance with the conditions of that licence, commits an offence.
