ODPP January data: 15-year-old charged with rape of two women

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the rape of a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, according to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

The juvenile also faces two counts of criminal trespass and one count of indecently annoying a person. The additional offences are recorded separately from the sexual offence charges.

The case is among 12 indictments filed in the High Court in January 2026 involving serious sexual offences.

The ODPP reported that 42 counts were filed last month, including 22 counts of rape, 14 counts of sexual assault and six counts of indecent assault.

Thirteen accused persons were charged, including two juveniles. There were 14 victims, five of whom were under the age of 18.

In other cases, a 30-year-old man was charged with the rape of a six-year-old girl known to his family.

A 24-year-old tour guide was charged with two counts of rape, four counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault involving a 25-year-old woman and a 51-year-old Chinese national.

The ODPP also reported three domestic-related incidents, while five matters were discontinued after Nolle Prosequi were filed due to insufficient evidence, the death of a victim or victims being uncontactable.

The statistics relate to formal indictments filed in the High Court in January 2026.
