A 23-year-old passenger who was allegedly involved in a motor vehicle collision at Naduna, Labasa on Tuesday has been discharged from Labasa Hospital.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the victim has recovered and been discharged after sustaining moderate injuries.

The collision occurred between a car and a bus during the early hours of that morning.

Riya Rishika Chand was admitted to the hospital with injuries. Her condition is closely monitored by hospital staff.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the accident was allegedly due to speeding.

She added that the alleged driver, William Peter, would be brought in for questioning soon.

Investigations are ongoing as officers work to determine the cause of the accident.

Bus operator, Dalip Chand & Son Limited manager Rajneil Chandra said the company continued to cooperate with police and that comments would be provided once the investigation is complete.

The driver, Peter, did not report any serious injuries.
