Police have dismissed claims circulating online that a second officer is missing following the death of an officer found in Lami yesterday morning.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said speculation and false information would not assist the investigation and urged the public to allow the process to run its course.
“Speculation and false information will not help,” he said. “There are claims that a second officer is missing, which is not true.”

“We all want answers, and we have an investigation team headed by the Divisional Crime Officer Southern working around the clock, piecing together the circumstances leading up to the officer’s death," Mr Tudravu said.
Mr Tudravu said updates would be provided when new developments arise and asked the public to protect the integrity of the investigation.
