Investigations into the death of Constable Peniasi Racagi are ongoing, Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed.

He urged members of the public to provide credible and concrete evidence to support the case.

Speaking on the progress of the inquiry, Mr Tudravu said a dedicated team is actively working on the investigation. He emphasised that further developments depend heavily on the quality of information received.

“As of now, the team is working hard,” he said, adding that only evidence that can be substantiated will assist police in advancing the case.

Without sufficient corroboration, files submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) may not proceed further, he said.

Mr Tudravu added that credible public cooperation is critical, as new evidence could allow investigators to refer the case back to the ODPP for further legal guidance and potential additional charges.

Police continue to appeal to the public to come forward with information that may help strengthen the investigation.

So far, more than 100 statements have been recorded in relation to the case.
