The Fiji Police Force has issued a stern warning to the public and traders regarding the unauthorised use of its official badge, stating that such actions are in breach of multiple national laws.

In a public notice released by the Police Headquarters, the force cautioned that the misuse of the badge, described as “a crest bearing the St. Edward’s Crown above crossed batons encircled by a wreath with the words ‘FIJI POLICE’ inscribed” or any similar mark, is a violation of the Fiji Police Act 1965, Public Order Act 1969, and Crimes Act 2009.

The notice warned offenders that they could face civil and/or criminal prosecution for such violations.

The warning, authorised by the Commissioner of Police, serves as a reminder of the legal protections surrounding official state symbols and the consequences of misrepresentation.
