The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) is investigating an incident in which a man with a history of serious drug offences attempted to enter the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua on Tuesday night.

RFMF sources confirmed the notorious individual, known to both police and RFMF, was allowed through the gates but prevented from entering further.

He reportedly arrived in two twin cabs with several associates, allegedly searching for a family member.

Following the incident, the Land Force Command Centre issued a directive barring him from all RFMF premises.

The memo, seen by this masthead, cited his criminal record, which includes multiple convictions for drug-related offences, and stressed the need for strict adherence to camp and garrison procedures to prevent security breaches.

RFMF sources said the restriction was enforced for security reasons, highlighting concerns about connections between the individual and some military personnel.

RFMF Commander Major- General Ro Jone Kalouniwai did not respond to our queries.
