SODELPA Aims For Majority in 2026 Polls
SODELPA is working on solidarity and a united front going into the 2026 General Election.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s People’s Alliance Party (PAP) is not the only party aiming for an outright majority in the 2026 General Elections.
The Social Democratic Liberal Party, a coalition partner of the PAP has also set its sights in an outright majority come next year’s polls.
SODELPA leader Aseri Radrodro said it was the aim of any party going into the General Elections to win and that was the same for his party.

The party held its Annual General Meeting at Epworth Hall in Suva last Saturday, with a packed house of supporters attending from as far as the Western and Northern divisions.
“SODLEPA will work on a strategy that ensures it gathers the majority in the 2026 General Elections,” Mr Radrodro said. “SODELPA has been pushing and standing for elections since 2014.
“Despite the rules that limited so many things in the past two election under the 2013 constitution, we survived and fought hard.
“We thank the pioneers of this party who stood hard and fought on the late Mr Qarase, Mr Kubuabola, and late Ms Samisoni for their efforts that allowed us to stand where we are today.
“SODELPA is working on solidarity and a united front going into the 2026 GE. “Where there is unity, God commands his blessings.”
Mr Radrodro said there were always issues within the party and that was something that always existed anywhere.
“You have been following SODEL-PA in the past years and you know that this is SODELPA. People come in and express their views freely and after that we come to a common agreement to continue on.
“Every party needs to sit down and think strategically. “We have been fighting to be in Government since 2014. We will have to work hard, every party will have its own strategy.
“How well you prepare will determine the outcome and we have begun our preparations.”
SODELPA general secretary Viliame Takayawa said the crowd that gathered in solidarity with the par-ty on Saturday was an indication of people wanting change.
“This kind of support and crowd encourages us. The turnout today is evident that our members want an outright win,” Mr Takayawa said.
“They want a change! The turnout here today indicates that people want change from the current situation. We had 700 plus registered but close to 400 turned out today.”
