Sugarcane Growers Fund has dedicated their win from the Fiji Business Excellence to the 5,500 cane farmers that the Fund looks after.

SCGF last week was one of four companies that won the Achievement in Business Excellence Award.

Chief Executive Officer Raj Sharma said this is the second year the company has participated in the event.

“This award goes towards the cane farmers,” he said.

“We are a very small team of 35 people and across the districts we have made a lot of improvements in terms of the leadership and how we are driving the business.”

Mr Sharma said the award was a reflection of the company’s customer focus approach towards the cane farmers.

“Every cane farmer that has a loan with us has my mobile number and we have 5,500 farmers who got my mobile contact.

“That is the level of customer service we are. We got all the processes, digital platform applications are done on my app applications and in the past 10 months, we have done a great record of results.”

Mr Sharma has big plans for SCGF to be transformed into a more versatile financial institution for the sugarcane farmers and beyond.

He added that SCGF has learnt a lot from the Fiji Business Excellence Awards in terms of leadership, customer focus, results, innovations and the changes they plan to make.
