The Joint Counter Narcotics Task Force has issued a strong warning to drug cartels and criminal networks operating in the Western Division, declaring it will not ease its campaign until those responsible are brought to justice.

Brigadier-General Manoa Gadai made the statement following a successful joint raid conducted by the Fiji Police Force (FPF) and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) in Legalega, Nadi, over the weekend.

Let me make this absolutely clear, we will not rest or stop in hunting down these thugs and drug cartels who continue to poison our communities and threaten the safety and wellbeing of our people.

He stressed that under his leadership, the task force will remain aggressive and uncompromising, pursuing suspects relentlessly and dismantling criminal operations systematically.

The Brigadier-General also highlighted the strength of the partnership between the police and the military, describing the raid as a successful example of coordinated action.

“This has been a successful joint operation between the FPF and RFMF,” he said, commending personnel from both forces for their resilience, sacrifices, and commitment to the demanding task ahead.

The operation forms part of a broader effort to disrupt and eliminate drug-related networks across the Western Division, with authorities pledging sustained pressure on those involved.

Brigadier-General Gadai also acknowledged the critical role played by members of the public, thanking them for their continued support in the fight against drugs.

“Their cooperation, trust, and vigilance have been critical in the task force’s fight against criminal networks and the drug menace affecting Fiji,” he said.

Authorities are urging continued public assistance as the task force intensifies its operations in the region.
