The death toll from yesterday's boat tragedy in Beqa waters has risen to three, with search efforts continuing for the sixth occupant still missing.

Police and community members resumed the search yesterday after a boat carrying six people capsized yesterday afternoon.

The body of the first victim, a man in his 50s, was recovered yesterday before search operations were suspended because of unfavourable weather conditions.

This morning, the bodies of two more victims were recovered and taken to the Navua Hospital Mortuary.

Two men who were rescued yesterday have since been discharged from Navua Hospital after receiving medical treatment.

The capsized boat has also been located and towed back to shore.

Joint search efforts by Police and members of the community continue as teams search for the remaining missing occupant.
