Three Families Left Homeless After Fire
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while the affected families seek shelter and support from the community.

Three families in Caubati, Nasinu are homeless after a fire destroyed their houses yesterday.
The blaze began in the extension of one home and quickly spread to two neighbouring houses. Residents were left with nothing to salvage as their belongings were reduced to ashes.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while the affected families seek shelter and support from the community.

Despite firefighters arriving in time, strong winds fuelled the flames, making it impossible to contain the inferno.
One of the house owners, Uraia Tuqalo, said their shared family home was completely destroyed.
“We lost everything inside. Nothing could be saved,” he said.
Authorities alleged the fire started when children were playing with matches inside the house.
Another house owner, Kelevi Natubavivi, 75, who lost his home and described the family’s desperate efforts to stop the blaze.

“We poured water and tried to extinguish the flames, but the fire was too strong. The only clothes I have now are the ones I’m wearing,” he said.
Tupeni Tuqalo,18, also lost their home in the fire and described the incident as terrifying.
He managed to rescue his grandfather before fainting inside the house while trying to retrieve car keys.
“I was lucky the firefighters pulled me out in time,” he resaid.
National Fire Authority (NFA) chief executive officer Puamau Sowane confirmed that investigations were underway to determine the exact cause of fire.
He urged families to remain vigilant, especially during the dry season.
Police confirmed it was waiting for the official response from the NFA before its personnel could start their investigations.
The tragedy has left three families displaced and without shelter, highlighting the devastating impact house fires can have on communities.
