The Fiji Police Force has started investigation into the alleged involvement of two government vehicles in separate road accidents yesterday.

The first accident was alleged to have happened in Lautoka where a police vehicle carrying remanded inmates to court collided with another vehicle along the Kings Highway at Navutu.

The vehicle was assigned to transport the remandees from the Natabua Remand Centre to attend their court cases at the High Court in Lautoka.

The court cases yesterday morning were suspended because of the accident.

An hour later, the prisoners arrived with their escorts.

Police spokesperson Warne Bautolu confirmed that no one was injured, and that they were investigating the incident.
